Joey Barton, who is very well known for sharing his views on anything and everything (some things that have nothing to do with him) on social media, had offered up plenty of insights into where his next move would be.

Which wasn’t looking as though it would be to stay with Burnley in the Premier League.

Rangers recently made an offer to Barton, Sean Dyche wanted to keep him at Burnley but he’s confirmed he’s ‘made his decision’ with him set to sign for the Scottish club.

His weekend tweets had involved (not such) ‘cryptic clues’ as to this next move being to Scotland with (again, no so) ‘subtle hints’ pointing in the direction of a move to Rangers with his tweets including various references to signs sung at Ibrox.

Barton’s last tweet, when he confirmed a decision had ben made, made a clear reference to Rangers so all we now need is official confirmation the 33-year-old has opted for a reported two-year deal in Scotland.

It’s a shame Barton doesn’t want to join us in the Premier League but players come and go!
