It’s being reported that Burnley midfielder Joey Barton’s Football Association hearing into betting charges has been postponed.

As fans will remember, the FA charged the 34 year old over 1,260 alleged bets over a period of ten years and he was due to meet with them for a hearing after accepting the charge as laid down back in February.

Barton had requested the personal hearing to offer mitigation on the breaches and he could still face a lengthy ban, which has obviously been factored into in terms of his return to Burnley back in January following his departure from Rangers.

With the hearing postponed, the BBC don’t say why it was postponed, he does however remain free to play now when Burnley travel to Liverpool and Anfield for Sunday’s Premier League clash at 4pm.
