Burnley have today clinched automatic promotion back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.

With Middlesbrough drawing on Friday evening against Birmingham City, and Brighton only managing a draw against Derby County in today’s earlier fixture.

Three points for Sean Dyche’s side with Sam Voke’s goal just after the hour mark in the game against Queens Park Rangers means with Middlesbrough and Brighton still to play in the final fixture of the campaign – neither side can get maximum points and dislodge the club from the top two in the Championship table.

With records tumbling this year, not least the unbeaten run, Burnley return to the Premier League at the first time of asking…and now the question is with or without the Championship title itself?
