Charlie Taylor has completed his proposed transfer to Burnley.

Taylor, 23, out-of-contract at Leeds, had turned down the offer of a new two year deal at Elland Road, having seen his transfer request rejected last summer.

However, Burnley will still have to agree a compensation fee with Leeds, which is due to the Championship club owing to the fact Taylor is under 24 and had been offered a new deal.

Leaving Leeds after 14 years was a big step for Taylor but he said the chance to join Burnley was a ‘no-brainer’ as it’ll allow him to compete against the best teams, such as Chelsea and Manchester United, week-in-week-out.

He told the Official Website: ‘It`s my first move permanently away from Leeds, so it`s something different for me but something I can`t wait to crack on with. I`ve been there since I was nine and I knew it was the right time really. There were so many things that attracted me to Burnley; it ticks every box and it was a no-brainer really. That`s the huge attraction of the Premier League, just everything about it! Week in, week out you are playing teams like Chelsea and Manchester United, so I just can`t wait to get started.’

The full back, who made over a 100 appearances for his hometown club Leeds, has signed a four year deal at Turf Moor.
