Burnley Fans Relishing The Return Of One Man Next Season

|

With Burnley bringing the curtain down on our Premier League campaign of 2017/18 with a 2-1 defeat to Bournemouth last weekend, fans are rightly already turning their attention to another season in the top flight and the European adventure we have secured for ourselves following our seventh-placed finish to the campaign.

Winding the season to a close sitting on 54 points for the year, five ahead of eighth-placed Everton, everyone knows how this season has been a success for us and whilst nobody expects the club to suddenly splash the cash with extra games to now factor into the fixture list, it is a constant evolution as we look to improve, strengthen the group and strive for more – in a sustainable and sensible way under manager Sean Dyche and the clubs’ board.

Belgian midfielder Steven Defour was giving his well wishes and thanks to the fans on social media this week given our achievements, and Clarets were quick to point to the fact that we can welcome back his quality next preseason as he overcomes injury – so it’s not just about summer spending as we look to kick on further next term.

Having come in from Anderlecht in August of 2014, the 30-year-old has certainly impressed fans in his 49 appearances and for a fee of £8million he’ll certainly be looking to increase his goal return of three when he gets back to fitness.

Suffice to say though, his performances so far have certainly warmed him to fans as the above tweets don’t even break the surface of the comments aimed in his direction.
