Change Of Scenery Can Re-ignite Our Season

Midfielder Jack Cork has said that a change of scenery for the Burnley first team can help us re-ignite our season and get back to winning ways.

With no fixture at the weekend with the FA Cup taking precedence, Sean Dyche has taken the squad away for some warm weather training in Portugal and the trip comes on the back of a ten game winless run – although points have been picked up across that time.

Cork told the Official Site that he felt some time away and in a different environment would recharge everyone nicely to turn our form around once again and end the season on a high note.

‘It will be a good time to reflect and have a look at what we are doing differently from the start of the season. We have to be realistic. We are still seventh in the table and still having a great season. We knew a bad run would come at some stage and it`s just how we deal with it and try to get back to how things were before. We`ll have a good trip away, with a bit of bonding and team spirit, and focus on what we`re good at.’

Burnley headed out to Portugal a couple of days after the loss to Swansea City at the weekend, and speaking about the game against his former club Cork went on to say that had we played as we were at the beginning of the season, he felt we’d have come away with something.

‘We have to go back to how we were at the start of the season and try and get back to how we were doing things. When we had games similar to that at the start of the season, we would have come away with a point or a win and we`ve got to get to that mentality of trying to concede as few goals as we can and be strong and aggressive.’
