Martin Paterson, Michael Duff and Josh McQuoid have all been called up by Northern Ireland gaffer, Michael O’Neill for his first game in charge to be played against Norway in a friendly in Belfast on Wednesday 29th February.

Michael Duff will be particularly pleased, he is once more in contention for international honours after already picking up 22 caps. This will be his first call-up though since November 2008. It is a mark of how well Duff has been playing for the Clarets in recent times that he has been recognised again by his country.

Paterson too will pleased with his call-up. He has suffered with too many injuries of late affecting both his club and country appearances. His last appearance for Northern Ireland was in a World Cup qualifying game back in September 2009 when he picked up his 12th cap.

The two players will be joined in the 24 man squad by current Millwall loan striker, Josh McQuoid. McQuoid will be hoping to make a sixth appearance for his country.

Another Burnley player away on International duty will be David Edgar. He could play in a friendly for Canada against Armenia in Cyprus also to be played on Wednesday 29th February.
