One of our posters Cliff Hartley (claretfromaway) got a mention in ‘Claret & You’ recently after donating his Vital Burnley Prediction League winnings to Youth Development

A Claret Donates Vital Burnley Winnings to Burnley FC Youth Development

The Background

Cliff Hartley, a true Claret has to be content supporting the lads from afar and rarely gets the chance to go the games. Why? Because Cliff is based in New Brunswick, Canada and has little opportunity to cross the pond and see his beloved Clarets play. Some folk may associate Canada with all things snow and ice but the photograph above would suggest otherwise. Cliff explains:

“Excuse the shorts but I have just come off the golf course and the temperature was 28 degree!”

Cliff, posting as claret-from-away, uses the Vital Burnley website to keep abreast of Clarets news and to air his views on all Footy matters. He has also recently been successful in winning the site`s Prediction League competition for last season scooping the first prize of £50.

The Donation

In a great gesture by Cliff, he has decided to donate the £50 to the club for youth development.

The Club’s Thanks

The news was covered in the recent Nottingham Forest ‘Claret & You’ match day magazine under an article headed ‘A Big Hart’ which included a photograph of Cliff and the background to his donation. Vital Burnley also got a plug.

The article finished with the club thanking Cliff for his great gesture advising that a copy of the ‘Claret & You’ would now be winging its way across the Pond!

Thanks again Cliff for your donation and your support for Vital Burnley!
