Burnley manager Steve Cotterill has embarked on a summer visit to Germany, to run the rule over players participating in the World Cup.

He attended yesterday’s Australia vs Japan game, before going to Frankfurt to take in South Korea against Togo today.

Cotterill is hopeful of finding some hidden gems in a World Cup campaign with a number of unseen sides at this years tournament.

He told the Burnley Express: ‘There’s a few bits and bobs I’m looking at. I’m going out to see a couple of World Cup games. It’s a case of taking a chance and having a look.

‘I’m watching some of the less fancied sides, because there’s not really much point me looking at England’s games, or anyone like that.’
