19 year old striker, Danny Ings has today signed for Burnley after agreeing a four year contract.

He was at the club today to discuss personal terms and complete a medical after his former club, Bournemouth agreed an undisclosed fee with the club as announced over the weekend.

It is thought the deal could involve a £1 million transfer fee.

Ings will wear the Number 14 shirt and will be eligible to play in our next game at home to Cardiff City this Saturday as well as in the Carling Cup competition. Our second round tie against Barnet at Turf Moor has now been confirmed for the night of Tuesday 23rd August (Kick-Off:7:45 pm)

At least this is at long last some good news after a torrid week last week when we lost Danny Fox to Southampton amidst growing concern and anger amongst Clarets fans that our squad seemed to becoming depleted.

Ings becomes the fifth new face at Turf Moor this summer and our third permanent signing.

Talking about his move, Ings said:

‘Ed and Jason brought me through when I was first at Bournemouth and gave me the opportunity and it’s good to be back working with them, day-in, day-out to try and improve as a player,’ .

‘There were a few teams that were interested but the whole time there was interest there was only one place I wanted to be, with my old management team.

‘It means a lot to me that they are going to give me a chance and hopefully I can repay them.
