Belgian international Steven Defour has been speaking about his delight at his own and Burnley’s form so far in 2017/18.

Whilst the bore draw with Huddersfield Town at Turf Moor at the weekend was nothing to shout about, it was another point and Burnley are on their longest unbeaten run in the Premier League since December 2014.

Defour has been an ever present so far this year in the league and completed his second 90 minutes at the weekend, and speaking to the Official Site he explained.

‘I`m pleased. I would have rather taken three points but it was a good game for myself. I tried to let the team play, to get the ball and try to combine because I saw when we combined we got better and closer to their goal. It wasn`t easy for both teams. We can see why Huddersfield have had a good start to the season. Playing at home we wanted to get the three points but it is a point and another point on the board.’

With injury hitting him at the end of last season, having not started a game for the final three and a half months of the campaign, he’s obviously pleased to have found himself a regular so far this term.

‘It was difficult for both sides. We had one good chance and if Woody touches the ball good, probably it`s a goal. That`s the kind of details than can decide a game but if you look at the whole game, not to concede a goal is also not bad. It`s going in the right direction. We just have to keep fighting every game because the Premier League is tough and it will be tough until the end.’
