Reports in the Sunday Mirror this past weekend claim Everton have joined Chelsea in tracking Burnley’s Michael Keane.

Premier League Champions Leicester tried to tempt Keane away from Turf Moor in the summer. However, Burnley stood firm and rejected a £15m offer from the Foxes.

Had Keane left he would have played Champions League football but would also be in a relegation battle at the King Power Stadium at present, which we’ve got to say he is with the Clarets too.

According to these reports Everton are preparing a rival offer for the 23-year-old and hope to convince Burnley to let Keane leave mid-season, whilst persuading the defender that Goodison Park is the place to develop instead of Chelsea.

I think we’ll all agree that Keane will leave Burnley sooner or later but it wouldn’t be in the Clarets’ best interests to offload him in January would it?
