The Clarets are already facing a 2011-12 season fixture change just hours after they were announced at 9am this morning.

We were scheduled to play Birmingham City at St Andrews on the night of Tuesday August 16 but this fixture has been postponed due to the newly relegated Blues` involvement in the Europa League.

Carling Cup winners Birmingham are due to play a European fixture two days later so Burnley’s visit to St Andrew`s will be re-arranged for a later date.

That could be a welcome relief considering there were seven fixtures originally scheduled for the month of August which also includes the first two rounds of the Carling Cup.

Following their league opener at home to Watford, Burnley will then have to beat Burton Albion at home in the first round of the Carling Cup in their next game to progress to the second round.

Although our clash away to Birmingham is now unlikely to be played in August, there is still a crammed August league schedule with games against Palace (A), Cardiff (H) and Derby (A) as well as the Watford opener.
