Steven Fletcher has had some good news about his ankle injury. He was fouled by Valencia in the first half against Manchester United at Old Trafford yesterday and soon after hobbled off the pitch to be replaced by Thompson in the 36th minute.

He immediately went to hospital for a precautionary X-ray on his injured ankle and the results show it is thankfully not serious.

Brian Laws speaking about the situation said:

‘There is good news about Steven. The X-Rays have not shown any real concerns and although sometimes it can take 48 hours for things to settle down, we are confident he should be available for the weekend.’

The Clarets play Reading at the Madejski Stadium this Saturday in the FA Cup 4th Round Clash so hopefully Fletcher will now be fit enough to feature in that game.
