Today we feature his take on yesterday’s Clarets match against Crystal Palace. It is clear for all to see the disappointment and frustration we are all going through at the moment as echoed by some of Martyn’s comments
You can see why some fans are not at all happy with the current situation and the role of Steve Cotterill but we all just have to hope we can get through this bad spell and return to the form that saw us do so well earlier in the season.

Burnley 1-1 Palace

Well, well, well. No win in 14 for Steve Cotterill`s stuttering Clarets and you have to wonder how much more of this the Burnley board can take. But knowing the Burnley board, they will take it and say how we are getting “No luck”, but maybe, just maybe if they take off their claret tinted glasses they will see how utterly awful we are at the moment.
Burnley are seeming to improve however, but every weekend as I arrive home, the first thing I do is take a look at the league table and I have to say our league position at this point in time is utterly disgraceful, keeping in mind where we were in the first few months of the season. It`s got to the point now that we don`t really have the right to take the you know what out of the leagues bottom side, Leeds United.
Anyway, on to the match, and as I said earlier, Burnley are seeming to improve. Burnley`s start to the game though wasn`t the best and after just 15minutes Ireland international Clinton Morrison`s looping header from the edge of the Burnley penalty area somehow beat Danny Coyne, how, we don`t know.
Coyne didn`t have the best start to the game, just moments before the goal, a poor John McGreal header back went astray, so Coyne raced to stop the ball going out for a Palace corner, but in his efforts he palmed the ball straight to James Scowcroft, thankfully McGreal cleared the ball.
Ade Akinbiyi took the ball straight from the re-start and raced up the field, stringing a few passes together in the process, before finally getting the ball back on the right hand side. Ade slotted the ball across the six yard box for Andy Gray who was a certainty to score until the big legs of Leon Cort blocked the ball and conceded a corner.
Four minutes later though and Burnley got the break they deserved. Ade Akinbiyi scoring his first goal in the league and first goal at Turf Moor since returning from his “loan spell” at Sheffield United. Gray laid the ball back the arriving Michael Duff who whipped a fantastic ball in to the area for Akinbiyi to nod the ball home.
Joey Gudjonsson`s set piece taking was yet again vastly disappointing, as he either fired high over the bar or hit the ball straight in to the wall.
Half Time: Burnley 1-1 Crystal Palace
Within two minutes of the re-start Andy Gray and Ade Akinbiyi had fluffed fantastic chances, Akinbiyi`s the clearest though. Andy Gray`s turn and shot was well read by Palace stopper Gabor Kiraly. Ade Akinbiyi though found himself free and onside in the penalty area and when Jon Harley`s cross met Akinbiyi`s head all he had to do is direct the ball for a certain goal, but he fluffed the chance and then got a bit of stick from the Turf Moor faithful, as did every player who made a mistake.
The game started to look more and more like a draw, but Akinbiyi again could have won the match but as he controlled the ball in the six yard area, the ball bounced up and his shot flew over the crossbar.
Tom Soares could have won the game for the Eagles but his long range curling shot was just a few inches over Danny Coyne`s crossbar who was relatively untested in the second half.
The full time whistle blew and once again a chorus of boo`s erupted around Turf Moor, which is seeming to get emptier every home game.
