Burnley striker Gifton Noel-Williams has attracted the interest of ‘eight or nine clubs’, according to the player’s agent.

The player has been on the transfer list since the end of the season, and it now looks like the ball is finally rolling for his transfer away from Turf Moor.

The former Watford and Stoke man is now set to meet his agent Gary Mellor, to discuss his next move.

Mellor said: ‘There has been quite a bit of interest, probably about eight or nine clubs,’

‘Brighton and Millwall have obviously been interested in him from before and there’s (Nottingham) Forest and also Leicester from the Championship.

‘I’m going to run a few things by him and see what he wants to do because it doesn’t look like he is in Burnley’s plans.’

It is questionable as to whether the transfer will involve a fee for the Clarets, but it would trim the wage bill, with manager Steve Cotterill looking to bolster his squad for next season.
