Burnley FC announced only a few hours ago that they would give Rangers midfielder, Alan Gow one week to decide if he wanted to come to Turf Moor.

We seem to have got our answer rather early

According to the Daily Record today, Rangers midfielder Alan Gow has rejected the chance to play for the Clarets electing instead to fight for his place at Ibrox after only two first-team starts last season.

Who says so? His agent, Phil McTaggart

Despite hours of long negotiations yesterday, Gow’s representative has now admitted that a deal could not be found that would convince Gow to sign for Burnley FC.

McTaggart said:

‘Alan will be back at Rangers next season and will report for pre-season training next Wednesday to try and force his way into Walter Smith’s plans.

‘There has been a great deal of talk about Alan leaving but he’s opted to remain where he is and prove himself after a disappointing first season at the club.

‘He had two years left on his contract and has the belief he can still be a success as a Rangers player.’
