Midfielder Jeff Hendrick has said he’s looking forward to putting one over former colleague Michael Keane when Burnley travel to Everton this weekend.

Having moved on to Goodison Park over the summer, the Republic of Ireland international admitted it would be good to meet up with him again but hopefully we’ll be celebrating the win at full time.

Speaking to the Official Site as he met with the media this midweek to preview the game, Hendrick explained.

‘We all got on with Keano. He`s a great lad. He`s been brilliant for the club here. It was his time to step on and challenge himself in a different way. He`s still young and he`s still improving. We all speak highly of him here and I`m sure they do at Everton as well. It will be good to play against him. He`s a good player but we want to get one over on him.’

Hendrick went on to say.

‘Everyone here wants the players to do well, whether it`s here or they go on to another club. It will be different playing against him but it will be enjoyable and hopefully we can get the result and he`s not too happy afterwards.’

With Burnley yet to take a point from Everton in three Premier League trips to Goodison Park, Hendrick knew we could draw on the positives from taking the draw against Liverpool earlier this month.

‘We`ve had some good results. We`ve had some tough teams to play against so far and picked up points against them. We`re happy where we are. Obviously, we want to win every game, but you can`t do that. It`s hard in the Premier League. We are in a good position and it gives us a good base to kick on from.’
