Burnley midfielder Steven Defour’s ever present record for the club this season will come to an end as he’s set for a spell on the sidelines.

Manager Sean Dyche has now confirmed that the player will be out for around the two month mark with a knee injury and he requires surgery to repair the cartilage damage he picked up.

The 29 year old has played every Premier League game so far this season, but Ashley Westwood replaced him in the line up for tonight’s game against Newcastle United, with it being Westwood’s first league start of the campaign.

No doubt as Dyche meets with the media post game there will be more of an update.
