Alan Gow has still not decided whether to join Burnley or not as part of the Lafferty deal keeping both clubs and fans in suspense.

This week’s gossip was about claim and counter-claim that he would sign with his agent sounding positive that just a few details had to be ironed out.

‘We are still in talks at the moment and nothing has been agreed yet,’ said his representative Phil McTaggart.

‘Hopefully something will be sorted sooner rather than later for everyone involved.’

‘If everything goes right, then Burnley is a great opportunity and Alan knows that.

‘It’s a good club, with a great manager who knows him inside out, and it could be ideal.

‘But the personal terms have to be right.’

However the Daily Record suggests that once again talks have hit the buffers with Gow needing to speak again to Rangers.

They state that Gow will meet Ibrox chief executive Martin Bain to find a solution.Gow is also now supposedly interesting Preston & Ipswich, so that will test whether the problem is Gow’s reluctance to play in the Championship or whether it is simply a problem fixing personal terms with Burnley. An interest by Motherwell has been denied but Dundee United boss,Craig Levein is watching with interest with a view to possibly bringing the player in on loan next season.

Since this was reported though, Kyle Lafferty has now officially become a Rangers player and the Burnley FC Official site have announced the following:

“Burnley Football Club has set a deadline of Thursday, June 26 for Alan Gow to join the club. Should Gow, 25 fail to agree to the move by the deadline, an agreement has been reached with Rangers to pay Burnley an additional fee for Northern Ireland striker Lafferty, who tonight officially joined Rangers for £3.25m”

So again the saga continues and it is a question of watch this space. My own personal view is that Gow is not really that keen to come to Burnley unless he gets the right amount of dosh so it begs the question if he does, will he be that motivated to play for the club? Only time will tell but how much time have we got? Well at least another seven days, oh joy!!
