Kaspars Gorkss, understood to be a transfer target by the Clarets last month, was thought to be on his way to QPR but it looks like that deal is dead in the water after alleged illegalities by QPR.

There is now a statement on the Official Blackpool site confirming the situation

‘On 17 June, Blackpool Football Club can confirm that it reported Queens Park Rangers to the FA for what it deems to be an illegal approach for defender Kaspars Gorkss.

This matter is now in the hands of the FA.

We currently have no further comment to make.’

Oh dear, so what will happen now? Will the Clarets be back in for the defender? They better tread carefully if they are. It is understood Gorkss has a £250,000 release clause in his contract and that the Clarets may have had such a bid already turned down.
