Burnley look set to make their first permanent signing of the summer with news that Preston winger, Keith Treacy will be discussing personal terms with the club tomorrow (Monday 1st August)

Both Preston and Burnley have agreed a fee for the 22 year old former Blacburn Rovers player.

The Republic of Ireland international was absent from Preston`s friendly with Wigan today fueling speculation a deal was imminent.

The Deepdale club are reported to have now accepted the latest offer from Burnley. By all accounts their fourth of the summer!

Preston chairman Maurice Lindsay told the Lancashire Telegraph:

“I have personally turned down three offers from Burnley for Keith but their final offer had to be accepted.

“The offer for Keith, which was all the cash upfront, was one that we could not refuse.”

Lindsay continued:

“Burnley`s offer today was conditional upon an immediate agreement which meant that Keith would be unable to play (against Wigan).

“I suppose they were making sure that he avoided any injury. Either way, we had no option.”

Well the long wait by Clarets fans for our first permanent signing of the summer looks to be over.
