The East Anglian Daily Times now reports that Ipswich gaffer Jim Magilton has also denied that a deal has been done with the Clarets for the Tractor Boys striker,Alan Lee However he also admits that he would consider an offer if the Clarets were interested. So make of that what you will!

It would appear though that Ipswich have had an enquiry from Burnley and it was interesting that the 29-year old didn’t start in Town’s game yesterday at Blackpool although he did come on as second half substitute.

Magilton is quoted as follows:

“We have not had a bid for Alan Lee from Burnley, but I’m sure the phone will ring about him on Monday or Tuesday and if it does then we will have to consider it.

“I will consider offers for any of my players and if it is one I can’t turn down then I won’t.”

The Clarets were reported in the local Burnley press to be willing to pay £900,000 for Lee after selling Andy Gray to Charlton for £1.5m.

There is also the possibility that Ipswich were willing to include Lee in their cash/player offer for Andy Gray before the Suffolk club realised that they could not match Hughie Gray’s game to ‘double his money’ Sorry last time I will crack that joke!
