Match Stats: Burnley v Brighton

|

Burnley and Brighton edged closer to their respective aims in the season of 2017/18 with the points being shared in today’s Premier League clash.

Welcoming Chris Hughton’s side to Turf Moor for the tie both sides cancelled each other out in a scoreless draw. It could’ve been different for Burnley though as we had two penalty shouts for handball in the opening half of the game but match day referee Roger East waved those appeals away.

We don’t get penalties, do we.

We continue to sit in seventh place in the top-flight table and we now need just a single point in the last two matches to secure a Europa League adventure in 2018/19. With Leicester City losing to Crystal Palace, a win today would’ve guaranteed European football next term but it certainly remains in our hands so we dust ourselves down and prepare for the next match now knowing exactly what is required.

In all honesty, we can already start making plans as although Everton can match our points tally, they need two victories against Southampton and West Ham and a 15 goal swing and few could imagine that happening.

Hardly a classic, but I imagine both sides will take the point happily as it strengthens Brighton’s top-flight hopes as well.

  • Stephen Gerskin says:

Can someone explain how the manager continues to pick the moat useless player in the whole league a player who can’t shoot can’t cross a ball never takes a corner or free kick and would run a mile if he had to take a penalty namely AARON LENNON.
