Burnley centre half Ben Mee has said he hopes we catch Chelsea cold this weekend in the 2017/18 Premier League kick off and he’s relishing the battle against Alvaro Morata.

Speaking to the Daily Mail as he met with the media this week to preview the coming game, Mee explained that he’d put the homework in on Morata to find out what kind of player he actually was in games, but he felt it would be a good battle on the day.

‘It will be good to see what Morata is like on Saturday. For a defender especially it’s worth watching strikers’ movements, not too much, not overkill but I think you can get an idea of what type of player they are like. Some players have different styles but that won’t affect the way that we go about our business. We’ll have a game-plan and I’m sure we’ll have the same game-plan regardless of whoever plays up front.’

As for the game itself and Chelsea as a whole, Mee knew it was a tough start to the year for Burnley given the way our fixture list formulated itself but he in general last season our performances against the so called bigger sides were good, and that’s what we’ll be looking to replicate and then hopefully we do well enough to take something from the game when it comes to points on the table.

‘It’s a tough start but we’ve got some good games coming up in the first few matches and it’s exciting. Our performances against the big teams were pretty good last year, barring Chelsea away. The rest of them were actually really good performances and we were unlucky not to get something from a couple of them, but it’ll be a really good test for us early in the season.’
