Midfielder Brings The Curtain Down On His Time At Burnley & Gets The Send Off He’d Want

|

The 2-1 defeat to Bournemouth in Burnley’s final game of the 2017/18 campaign brings into sharp focus the players who will be leaving us this summer – both those we already know about and those yet to be confirmed.

One player in the ‘known about’ column is five-year servant Scotty Arfield, with manager Sean Dyche confirming he would be moving on this summer with a number of options available to him as he heads towards the day where he will hang his boots up, which many hope will be in plenty of years to come.

Scotland as a destination and Rangers appeared to be in pole position, and that has subsequently been confirmed.

The 29-year-old joined the club back in the summer of 2013 from Huddersfield Town and 193 appearances later with 22 goals in that time, he proved a snip as a free transfer and the Canadian international will remain in our history for the part his played in helping to get us, and then establish us in the Premier League.

Whilst his future is elsewhere, fans aren’t quick to forget his past and with a simple tweet, I’m sure he’d have been delighted with the response he received.

Those tweets and well wishes are far from in the minority but this page is only so long!
