Burnley have made a dual-signing today. 24 year old former Scotland Under 21 midfielder, Scott Arfield (pictured above) has been given a two-year contract following a succesful trial at the club in pre-season. He left Huddersfield in the summer after making 119 appearances in three seasons for the Terriers and scoring nine goals.

22 year old former Sunderland striker, Ryan Noble has also signed on the dotted line for the Clarets after being offered a one-year deal. He was released by the Black Cats in May after four years with the club. Noble only managed a handful of Sunderland first-team appearances though whilst at the Wearside club and had a number of spells out on loan at Watford, Derby and Hartlepool.

‘Scott is a real talent and Ryan is a goalscorer that just needs the chance to play,’ said Burnley gaffer Sean Dyche.

‘Scott joined us in pre-season and valued the chance to work hard here.

‘That has deservedly rewarded him with a contract and we hope he turns into a really valuable player for us.

‘We had Ryan at Watford but he was too young then and now he’s a little older and wiser and we want him to be hungry to perform and impress and improve himself here.’

Welcome aboard chaps!
