The Premier League have now announced the Match Day officials that will take charge of the game between Burnley and Arsenal this Sunday.

Burnley host Arsenal on Sunday November 26 for the game at Turf Moor and the match carries a 2pm kick off.

Referee: Lee Mason
Assistant Refs: Harry Lennard and Matthew Wilkes
Fourth Official: Jonathan Moss

Match Day referee Mason has officiated nine games in 2017/18, showing 19 yellow cards and one red card.

He took in 25 games in 2016/17 with a return of 96 yellow cards and three red cards.

His highest card count that season was eight yellows in the game between Leicester City and Middlesbrough in November. Eight yellows also appeared in the Bristol City and Birmingham City clash and he also showed seven yellows and one red in the game between Manchester City and Burnley.

He took in 34 matches in 2015-16 and in those games, across all competitions and football divisions, he handed out a total of 96 yellow cards and three red cards.

He was most card happy in the match between Derby and Sheffield Wednesday in April with a total of nine yellows being shown. The Nottingham Forest and Middlesbrough game in September saw eight yellows.

Let`s hope it`s not another repeat and more of the players edge closer to automatic bans.

  • Grimsby Claret says:

Lee Mason, Was always and indeed did give Arsenal the benefit of the doubt in all decisions.
He allowed Arsenal players to be Psychical without penalising them never mind giving any of their players a card.
Of course he was waiting for the opportunity to gift them a soft penalty for the slightest contact on one of their players in the Box. He got his wish in the final seconds.
a perfect example of a referee favouring the super power clubs throughout the game.
