The Clarets were ordered to pay Manchester United £500,000 plus add-ons for 20-year-old right back, Richard Eckersley following a recent FA tribunal verdict.

Just a few days later after the club described this as a satisfactory outcome, Eckersley looks set to now be travelling down to Devon for a month to play for struggling Championship side, Plymouth Argyle.

The deal is expected to be concluded tomorrow (Friday 5th March)and he could be making his debut for the Pilgrims against Preston this Saturday.

‘Now everything is sorted out it’s important that Richard plays some games,’ Brian Laws told the official website.

‘He will get that down there and we will keep a close eye on him and hopefully he will come back strong for the end of the season.’
