Burnley have confirmed the permanent exit of Rouwen Hennings for German club Fortuna Dusseldorf.

Having spent last season on loan with the German Second Division side, scoring nine goals in the process, it was agreed his future would be better served at Fortuna on a permanent basis.

‘Burnley Football Club would like to think Rouwen for his contribution to the club and wish him well in his future career,’ said the Official Website.

In his time at Turf Moor – arriving from Karlsruhe in August 2015 – German forward Hennings made 27 appearances and scored his first Burnley goal in a draw with Cardiff in November 2015.

Despite the fact he still had 12 months on his Turf Moor contract the Clarets cut short his agreement to allow Hennings to sign for Fortuna on a free transfer, penning a three year deal.
