Claret Dale provides comment on the Sheffield Clarets Final Prediction League Table for 2008/9 and announces the winner.

After a superb final month that saw him obtain three consecutive maximum pointers – Matt is the first Sheffield Clarets Prediction League Champion. What an honour! Well done Matt.

Matt correctly predicted results against Derby, QPR and Cardiff whilst picking up 2 points for a 2-1 prediction against the Blades. This combined with Gerry`s poor month (by his standards) saw him claim the title!

In the average point per game (kept for comparison for late starters), Bryan came out on top despite claiming to ‘know nothing about football`. If that is true, I don`t know what it says about the rest of us!

So, quite a successful competition I think. We will run this again next year, and I am sure Matt would welcome more challengers!

As for the real business on the pitch – Lets just hope the boys can do enough to leave us predicting games against United, Liverpool and such like in the league!

Good Luck Lads – We know you can do it!

3rd bottom! I’m not happy with that! I can only kick on from here and hope for an improvement next season… not that it should be too difficult to improve on half a point a game. Well done Matt!

To be fair mate – you got 17 correct results, which is more than both me and Barnsey – but we just got a more accurate scoreline!
