The Burnley players did all they could in today’s must win match against Hull City.
Taking the one nil victory over Steve Bruce’s boys with Danny Ings tenth goal of the campaign gave us the three points we wanted, but with results elsewhere going against us we are now officially relegated back to the Championship at the first time of asking.
With two games to go even the pundits are pointing out how well we did given many were confident we’d have been relegated weeks if not months ago, so there are positives to take from the season as manager Sean Dyche was pointing out ahead of the game – but that’s scant consolation for many at this particular moment in time.
