Robbie Blake has turned down Burnley’s final offer of a new one-year contract according to Alan ‘Spit’ Nixon in the Mirror.

It would appear (as recently stated in a Vital Burnley article) that Blake was seeking a longer deal of two years.

Burnley though have stuck to their guns and refused to offer a longer contract.

Blake is a firm Clarets fans’ favourite and they will be disappointed by this news.

It will be sad to see Robbie leave for the second time, if the article is true which seems likely knowing Nixon’s track record for accuracy.

Both Hearts and Preston have been linked with a move for the 34 year old midfielder and not many Clarets fans would relish the thought of Blake lining up against us next season for North End so let’s hope the SPL club or a non-Championship side come up with the goods!
