West Ham defender, Matt Fry could be about to exchange one Claret & Blue shirt for another following speculation that Burnley are interested in signing the 20 year old and could be close to finalising a deal.

The 6ft tall defender came through non-league Gravesend & Northfleet’s youth team before at the age of just eleven joining West Ham’s youth team.

He signed his first professional contract, for the Hammers in June 2009.

In October 2009 he joined Gillingham on a one-months loan deal which was subsequently extended. He suffered an injury though and eventually returned to Upton Park in January 2010.

In March that year another loan deal was struck this time at League 1, Charlton until the end of the season but he never managed to play for the Addicks during this spell.

He returned to Charlton though again on loan in August 2010. In March 2011 Fry returned to West Ham having made 32 appearances for Charlton whilst also scoring one goal.
