The 25-year old striker, Andy Bishop started his professional career with Walsall in the summer of 2002.

During a two year spell at the club, he seemed to spend most of his time on loan playing for Kidderminster Harriers (2 spells), Rochdale and Yeovil.

Bishop was signed by former Clarets player, Chris Brass at York City in July 2004, after rejecting a new deal at Walsall.

The striker was then signed by Bury on a free transfer in May 2006 on a two-year contract.

He scored 21 goals in all competitions and became the first Shakers player to score 20 or more goals in a season for 13 seasons.

In September 2007,Bishop then signed a new deal with Bury up to June 2010, in September 2007.

Crewe Alexandra were believed to be interested in the player during the January 2008 transfer window and it is now rumoured that both Burnley and Preston would like to sign him.
