The Sun today suggests Clarets boss Brian Laws is set to put in a £2 million bid for Peterborough winger, George Boyd.

Boyd joined Posh from Stevenage Borough in January 2007 for a Conference record fee of £250,000.

Nicknamed ‘The White Pele’ by Stevenage fans, Boyd can play in a number of positions but is predominantly a left winger. He can also play in attack or just behind the strikers.

Championship side, Middlesbrough put in an offer for Boyd in this year’s January Transfer window but the bid was rejected.

Nottingham Forest signed the player on loan in March 2010 until the end of the season.

Boyd has now returned to Peterborough with the club now in League One following their relegation this season.
