Burnley are still believed to be interested in signing 23 year old Leeds United midfielder Adam Clayton.

The England Under 20 international was transfer listed by Leeds gaffer, Neil Warnock after failing to sign a new deal, with 12 months on his current contract still remaining.

It is thought about £400,000 could be enough to secure his services although there a number of other Championship clubs thought to be interested.

Clayton came through the ranks at Manchester City without making his first team debut. Loan spells at Carlisle and Leeds United followed and he certainly made an impression at Elland Road signing for the Yorkshire club permanently in August 2010 for an undisclosed fee.

It took some time for him to establish himself in the first team and loan spells at Peterborough and Milton Keynes Dons followed in 2010-11

The midfielder also has an eye for goal scoring six goals in 42 league starts last term.
