The rumour that Celtic’s Derek Riordan might be on his way to Turf Moor refuses to go away.

Celtic’s interest in Kyle Lafferty after a failed bid of £500,000 in last season’s January window also seems to be maintained with a report today that a swop plus cash deal for Riordan might be on the cards

We are indebted to Carrickclaret on our admin team for spotting this article in his local paper, the Belfast Telegraph

The main part of the article suggests that Celtic are ready to use out-of-favour striker Derek Riordan as bait to bring Northern Ireland striker Kyle Lafferty to Parkhead and that Owen Coyle although denying the rumours has a soft spot for the player and wants to rescue the 20 year old lad from his Celtic predicament.

The paper is quoted as saying the following

‘A swap deal is now on the cards and with Coyle stating he would allow Lafferty to leave if it was in the best interests of the club and player there is nothing to block the move. ‘

Oh well, we shall just have to see how things develop
