Celtic boss Gordon Strachan has made a fresh £3.75million bid for Kyle Lafferty according to today’s Daily Mirror.

The offer involves £2.75m cash plus striker Derek Riordan. The offer means that Celtic still rate Riordan at £1 million, despite the striker being out of action for most of the season and unable to break into the sixteen.

That alone may be offputting to the Clarets and they have made it known they will not accept anything less than £4 million cash (or equivalent) for Lafferty.

An interesting sideline to the offer is that Celtic would be willing to play a friendly fixture between the clubs allowing Burnley to keep the receipts.

All these bids are getting tiresome for most Clarets fans with most eager to see a deal struck and quickly so we can move on.

I think this is a reasonable offer and would bring an exciting player Coyle respects to Turf Moor.
