The Clarets have been linked with Liverpool winger,Paul Anderson according to the local Swansea Evening Post. Swansea being another club,along with Forest,Derby and Watford alleged to be after the player.
Anderson had a very successful season-long loan for Swansea recently and they could be favourites to sign the player although the new boys of the Championship do face tough oppostion from established Championship sides if the rumoured links are true.
The 19 year old, England Under 19 International was born in Leicester and after spells in the youth teams for West Brom and Hull, he signed for Liverpool in January 2006 following a series of impressive displays for Liverpool reserves and under-18 teams.
The deal saw Liverpool’s John Welsh move to Hull in exchange.
Hull City would also receive up to £1 million for Anderson depending on the number first team appearnces.
Quite remarkable after the player had been written off by West Brom!
In July 2006, Anderson extended his contract with Liverpool by 3 years up until 2010.
During his loan spell with Swansea last season, he was named as their Young Player of the Year after scoring 10 goals in all their competitions.
