The Clarets have apparantly being trying to sign Bournemouth’s highly rated striker Jayden Stockley. However the 16 year old has decided to sign a new five year contract with the League Two side.

The six foot three striker became the youngest player in Bournemouth’s history to make his debut at just 16 years and 21 days when he played last month against Northampton Town in their 2-1 defeat in the Football League Trophy Southern Section Second Round.

The player had been attracting interest from a number of clubs including Birmingham, Portsmouth and Wolves as well as the Clarets

Stockley said after signing the new contract:

‘A lot of it has just been talk that I have heard, but I do know someone from the England under-16s has been watching. I think there were some Premier League clubs looking as well, but I don’t know which ones other than what I have read. It’s an honour to be linked with clubs at that level and it will make me raise my game. But I don’t want to go anywhere because I’m at Bournemouth.’
