Chris Eagles is reportedly on newly-promoted West Bromwich Albion’s radar.

News broke in the Sunday Papers last weekend but specualtion has continued during the week with the Lancashire Telegraph claiming the Baggies are hopeful of luring the former Manchester United midfielder to The Hawthorns.

Other Premier League clubs are believed to be interested including Everton and Tottenham Hotspur.

Eagles himself has previously admitted he is likely to leave Turf Moor if we are relegated.

He said recently:

‘I’m still really ambitious; I want to play in the Champions League and for England. To do that I’d need to be in the Premier League so if Burnley went down I’d have to think seriously. I couldn’t go back down into the Championship at this stage in my career and I know there would be offers.’

Quite clearly another bind to being relegated with the almost certain requirement that the club will then need to be looking for another midfielder, one hopefully with the versatility of Eagles who can play on both flanks and even in the centre.
