The Clarets have today been once more linked with 28 year old, Carlisle striker and winger, François Zoko.

The Côte d’Ivoire-born player was on trial with League One side Carlisle United just before the 2010-11 season got underway. Zoko then signed a permanent one-year contract with the club in July 2010 after impressing during pre-season. He has since scored 19 goals in 87 appearances and has established himself as a firm fans` favourite at Brunton Park.

Other clubs have been linked with him in the past including Wigan and Swansea and it is now thought Middlesbrough are also in the market for his signature.

Carlisle was his first English club having plied his trade earlier in his career at AS Nancy, Stade Laval, R.A.E.C. Mons, Hacettepe Spor Kulübü and KV Oostende. Zoko has been used as a striker or winger throughout his career although he was also tried as a central midfielder whilst at Turkish club, Hacettepe Spor.
