Huddersfield Town offered former Clarets defender, Frank Sinclair a one-year contract this week.
Frank Sinclair was sent-out on loan to Huddersfield earlier in the year and it was always expected he would sign permanently. He was however brought in by former manager Peter Jackson so there remained an element of doubt when new manager Andy Ritchie took over the reins at the Galpharm.
Andy Ritchie has however been impressed with Sinclair and had this to say about the deal.
‘Frank has versatility, lots of experience and fitness. He can play right-back or centre-back and while he may be 35, he has kept himself in great condition and remains a real athlete.
‘You only had to watch him plough up and down the wing for 90 minutes against Orient last Saturday to realise that. He is great in the air given he’s not the tallest and he has bags of enthusiasm, both in matches and training,’ said Ritchie.
‘Frank has played at the highest level, including the World Cup, but he’s a very down-to-earth type, and he’s more than willing to impart his knowledge to the younger lads we have here.’
Frank has so far played 13 games for Huddersfield since his arrival on loan.It is also understood that Sinclair had previously illustrated his desire to remain at the Galpharm by agreeing to waive a clause in his original loan contract which would have guaranteed a season-long deal after nine games.
Frank was officially released by Steve Cotterill on Monday this week before the news of a one year contract at Huddersfield was announced on Thursday.
