Burnley centre half James Tarkowski has been charged with violent conduct following the game last weekend against Brighton.

The former Brentford defender appeared to ‘swing his arm’ into Glenn Murray’s chest during the game and with match day referee Chris Kavanagh confirming in his post game report that he didn’t see the incident, the Football Association are now investigating and their three man panel (former referees) unanimously agreed that the incident was worthy of a straight red card.

The 25 year old has until 6pm on Tuesday (tonight) to respond to the charge and he could be facing a three match ban which would see him miss fixtures against Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United and Huddersfield Town.

Burnley have the joint best defensive record in the Premier League having conceded only 12 goals, and Tarkowski has more than played his part in that starting all 18 games in the league this season.

Having not been sent off for the club since arriving in February 2016, that will unlikely sway the FA’s final decision.

Murray may well have made a meal of it but Tarks really should have known better even if he was upset by the simulation to get the penalty. He has to learn to accept these things for the good of himself and the team. Come on you Clarets, 4 points from the next three games will be a wonderful Christmas present for the fans.

Here here..would be delighted with 4.Think we will get result from Spurs game to start.Tarks will be missed but Longey can do a job for us.Would like to see Lowton playing v Spurs as i feel he
has more to offer going forward and we need to attack Spurs as their defence CAN be breached.Have a feeling there are going to be goals in this game.UTC.
