Former Wigan and Derby County boss, Paul Jewell has been named as the new manager of Ipswich following the demise last week of Roy Keane.

Ipswich owner Marcus Evans told the club’s website:

‘I wanted to appoint a manager with several years of experience behind them who also had a history of promotion and then staying up’

Many Clarets fans may be wondering if we should be doing the same after yet another possible target has been mopped up.

I don’t think anybody imagined Paul Jewell would have been on our short-list but there is no doubting his pedigree in getting a club promoted and keeping them up.

Ipswich certainly seem to have moved quickly too appointing a new manager just 3 days after sacking one! Is there another lesson to be learned there?
