Clarets manager Steve Cotterill is bracing himself for the yearly transfer scramble to kick in to gear at the end of the month.

The main stumbling block for the Clarets is the four transfer listed players, whos wages take up a significant part of the budget.

There has been interest in those players, Micah Hyde, Gifton Noel-Williams, Duane Courtney and Danny Karbassiyoon, but nothing concrete has materialised as yet, meaning they remain on the books.

Cotterill has admitted that the transfer scramble has been slow so far this year, with the World Cup in action, but made his stance clear by telling the Burnley Express: ‘If no one goes out, there’s nothing we can do in terms of bringing people in.

‘For the first time in a long time, it’s nice not to have the worry of desperately having to get players in, but having said that, I would like to have a few more in.’
