Burnley’s Championship season continued with a first win of the season at Turf Moor against Brentford on Saturday.

A first win of the new season, in league or cup, not only saw Burnley react to the midweek defeat it also saw that first win when Keane scored midway through the first half to give the Clarets a one-nil win, a first league defeat the Bees had suffered themselves.

Gray was signed from Brentford in a club record move from the Bees the Friday before the game, however he wasn’t included but another recent signing Hennings was.

The visitors had threatened to go ahead but Heaton saved a Judge freekick with the Burnley ‘keeper having a ‘positive’ Vibe to keep out the Brentford man more than once….come on, it was a pun of inevitable proportions!

Burnley then went ahead at the midway stage of the first half when Keane (26), and in scoring for a second home game running, headed home a Jones corner. Keane’s always been a threat but the defender looks a real threat this season from set pieces.

Another goal looked likely, however this always seemed more likely to come from Burnley with Arfield, Vokes and Taylor all having chances, some will feel they should have done better in making sure of the points but one goal was enough!
