Burnley’s Championship season continued with a win at Turf Moor against Fulham on Tuesday.

First half goals from Gray, with another brace with this the third time he’s done this in a row at home, had Burnley on the way to victory with McCormack getting Fulham back into the game but a late Taylor goal secured a three-one win to take Burnley joint-top.

The lead was taken when Gray (18) powered a header home from a Jones cross, which came from a short corner routine.

A second from Gray (37), and his ninth-goal of the season, when he finished off Arfield’s pass doubled the Burnley lead before the break to leave the Clarets on the way to victory.

Fulham were back in the game early in the second half when McCormack (51) curled home, having been set up by Cairney, to reduce the deficit.

Gray looked to complete his hat-trick but this was denied the Clarets striker when he struck the crossbar with Vokes’ header then seeing another chance to extended the lead prevented when his effort was cleared off the line.

An equaliser was threatened by Fulham with McCormack’s effort saved by Heaton with Dembele putting a volley over before victory was assured when Taylor (90), once again as he has already this season, finished into the bottom corner in injury-time after coming off the bench.

This fifth win in six-matches was enough to take Burnley up to second but behind only new leaders Hull on goal-difference.
