Having completed the signing of Leeds’ Charlie Taylor the arrival of Stoke’s Jon Walters might not be far off too.

According to the BBC, Burnley have agreed a deal with Stoke to bring Walters, 33, to Turf Moor.

The fee Burnley pay, after a previous offer was turned down, for the Republic of Ireland international could reach up to £3m.

During his seven years at Stoke, joining from Ipswich in 2010, Walters has made well over 250 appearances and has scored 62 goals. The Irishman is ‘thought to be keen to link up with Burnley manager Sean Dyche,’ said the BBC.

A fee has been agreed but Walters is yet to undergo a medical or agree personal terms, reports Sky Sports.

This shouldn’t be an issue with Walters expected to come through these areas in time to link up with the squad on Monday.

His arrival would add experience and another attacking option but there’s still the threat of losing Andre Gray?
